Best socks in the world :) These are not easy to get hold of so if you see them, don't miss them!

True Hygge Scandi Cosiness! These beautiful Fairisle jacquard knitted kneehigh organic merino wool socks are super special. Great with boots. So soft and warm!

Always wear socks with sock savers (i.e. slippers!) to reduce wear and tear.

Wool feels comfortable and dry, even when you sweat. It can absorb a lot of moisture (up to 33% of its dry weight). Air between uses, wash only when required. We know they feel lovely but avoid continuous use with socks knitted in 100% wool, the fibres need to rest so alternate with another pair and you'll have them a whole lot longer. Mend worthy for life. See info below about ALL-WOOL socks...

BrandHirsch Naturest 1928.
Designed in: Germany
Origine of Fibre: Sourced from certified organic farming in Patagonia
Country of manufacture: Wool spun in Europe. Dyed, knitted and hand finished in Germany by Hirsch Natur.
Certifications: NATURTEXTIL IVN certified BEST (IVN BEST) organic
Fabric structure: Knitted from 100% certified organic merino wool. No nylon or synthetics other than a few strings of elastane sewn into the top inch of the cuff to stop the socks from falling down - these make up 0.3-0.5% of total fibres.
Biodegradability: Wool fibres are 100% biodegradable. Before composting, remove the few elastane threads from the cuff to dispose of separately, or cut away top inch to re-use as a hair-tie, garden tie, etc.
Machine Washable: No (see our guide to washing wool)

Care: Air for 3 days to clean. Handwash or gentle cold wool machine cycle with wool shampoo - only when required. Please treat these socks with the same care and love you'd give to a hand knitted sock. All wool socks will wear through faster than socks reinforced with nylon. Darn for life long love.

More about 100% wool socks. Hirsch natur socks are knitted from 100% unprocessed organic merino wool and are Handwash only. Best to air your socks for three days if you feel they need a wash. Hirsch Natur recommend washing every 6 weeks. Alternate with another pair - don’t wear them continuously, they need a break! They don’t have any nylon in them so with lots of wear the wool will start to wear down and then it’s time to reinforce them or mend any holes that are starting to develop, like in days of old. Because you don’t need to wash them very often, handwashing them doesn’t take too long and will save them from washing machine mishaps.

IVN BEST is the highest ecological standard that can currently be achieved in the textile industry, taking into account environmental & social welfare. The IVN BEST certification is only awarded to textiles made from 100% organically produced natural fibres. The certification takes into account all the environmental effects of the entire production process, from production of the fibres to the finished garment, along with high social welfare standards for all companies involved in the process.

Great insight on what happened at Blizzard but...
Format: Kindle
My main issue with the book is the lack of non-american stories that explained the bigger picture. As a former Blizzard dev, there's much more than what happened in Irvine and Korea, with Europe's office mentioned almost as a footnote, and nothing else from the other regional stories. Shame but I guess the book would've been double the size.

Insightful inside scoop of Blizzard
Format: Audiobook
An intriguing, well-written exploration of Blizzard’s history and its staff, from inception to modern day, and their design decisions, successes and failures along the way. I loved the many quoted insights, and learning more than just the surface level story that might be found on typical gaming news outlets.

This book really helps organize a process that is inherently chaotic
Format: Kindle
I'm working on a series of novels about a world of talking animals that grows up after humans die out from complications of climate change. Every species has its own culture. I got through the first book and well into the second before I realized that I needed some way to codify all the cultural details. I had lots of ideas, but no way to organize them, and as I moved towards the third book of the series, which would require creating seven or eight whole cultures, I was feeling overwhelmed. Creating Life and the free templates the author provides as a download are proving to be very useful tool. I look forward to reading the other two books in this series, too.

An excellent book
Format: Kindle
I am a new fantasy fiction writer, and the detail of this book really helped me out very much. As I was searching Amazon for a book on this topic, this was one of the few that stood out. The author also offers continuous lessons on world building through his free newsletter, which I also find helpful. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Randy. L.M. Montes

Both books in this series are worthwhile reference sources
Format: Kindle
Great books--I got both this one and Creating Places. I simply stumbled upon both books online when looking for something about plotting, and I bought them both, and am glad I did. I'm a fairly experienced writer in literary genres, but fantasy/sci-fi are different. The first book I got, Creating Places, was immediately useful as I was creating a land ringed with tall mountains, and I wondered about rainfall--this book answered my question about how mountains effect rainfall! It's not like you couldn't look some of this stuff up in other ways, but having it all in one place was very useful to me. This one still had tips I was interested in, but I agree with the reviewer who noted it did feel like it was more about world building for world building's sake (at least in this book). Plenty of things didn't apply to what I'm writing, but if you use these as a handy reference--rather than a "how to" book, I still think there is a lot of use here. (Plus, when I bought it, the book was under $3, so I figured why not?)
